"You are covered in prayer and blessings. May God, through the love and prayers of the Mary, Queen of Heaven Community heal you in mind, body and spirit. Peace be with you!"

The Prayer Blanket Ministry involves making lap-size blankets or "throws" from fleece that are given to people who are homebound, seriously ill, or in the hospital. Volunteers commit to prayer for the recipient, as they are fulfilling their part in making the blanket. The blankets are then blessed by a priest. Every person who receives a prayer blanket receives a tangible symbol of the love and prayers of the Mary, Queen of Heaven Parish Community. This ministry is a non-profit project. It is supported by the generosity of the Mary, Queen of Heaven Community and the people who have given or received blankets.

God uses this ministry to touch the lives of the people who receive the blankets and those who make the blankets. These prayer blankets are meant to bring relief to the suffering and peace to the fearful. As the individual uses the blanket, they know that they are not alone, that there are people who care about them and are praying for them. This transforms the blanket into a cloth interwoven with the prayers and blessings offered for the recipient.
